I utilize cutting-edge genomics methods to understand the complicated population dynamics that are often so central to developing management and recovery efforts. For my PhD work, I focus on the biological invasions of herpetofauna to the Hawaiian islands. I am working to gain insight into introduction rates, pathways, and population dynamics of these introduced taxa. As Hawaii lacks native terrestrial herpetofauna and remains incredibly susceptible to further invasions, knowledge of these factors can lead to more efficient invasive species management plans and aid in the prevention of future invasions.
