Research

I am deeply passionate about understanding intricate systems in order to further our understanding and ability to properly manage wildlife populations. For my master’s project I will be focusing on several invasive species of lizard in Hawai’i. I will be conducting genetic analyses to determine source and frequency of introductions to Hawai’i. I will also be using the islets on the windward coast of Oahu as a study system to understand how varying rates of gene flow affect the speed and magnitude of evolutionary change, using invading lizards as study species. Knowledge of these factors can lead to more efficient invasive species management plans and aid in the prevention of future invasions.
