Me, Caroline, and Amber Wright got to Kauai today for a week of field work. Caroline and I are trapping soft shells for one of her masters projects, and Amber is collecting data on lizard abundance and competition. We had a long day of travel, buying supplies, and then actually getting to work putting traps in the water (Caroline and me) and doing the first surveys (Amber), but all has gone smoothly so far. One of the nicest things about tropical field work is that after the long, gritty work day you get to kick back and relax at camp sites like this.
